County of San Diego COVID-19 Security Deposit Assistance Program

The County of San Diego’s Security Deposit Assistance Program (SDAP) helps eligible County residents with a security deposit payment. The program provides one-time payment assistance for renters unable to pay for a security deposit through a security deposit voucher program. The security deposit cannot exceed two months’ rent for a maximum award amount of $7,000. Vouchers are limited. Applications will no longer be accepted as of October 1, 2022. To be eligible for this program, households must meet all the following criteria:

Must be current resident within the County of San Diego.
New unit where security deposit assistance is being provided must be located in the County of San Diego.
Rental period for new unit where security deposit assistance is being provided should not be less than six months.
Household income must be at or below 120% Area Median Income (AMI) limit.
